How Glarium Works

The game

Glarium is a competitive free-for-all (FFA) arena shooter. Eight fighters drop into one arena — no teams, no allies. The goal is not survival, it is kills. Every match feeds your rating, your Sparks, and your league standing.

Sparks — the economy

Sparks are earned and lost through performance in every match:

• +10 Sparks per kill
• −11 Sparks per death
• +5 Sparks for completing a match
• +20 Sparks MVP bonus (most kills in the match)

ELO — the rating

Every player starts at 1000 ELO. After each match, ratings are adjusted using a pairwise ELO calculation with a K-factor of 32 — beating higher-rated opponents gains you more, losing to lower-rated opponents costs you more. In FFA, your ranking within the match is decided by kills first, Sparks as a tie-breaker.

Leagues

Your ELO places you in one of five leagues:

• Bronze — 0 to 1099 ELO
• Silver — 1100 to 1299 ELO
• Gold — 1300 to 1599 ELO
• Platinum — 1600 to 1899 ELO
• Diamond — 1900+ ELO

Reaching Gold (1300 ELO) unlocks entry to Elite tournaments.

Matchmaking

Join the queue and Glarium matches you with players of similar skill. The ELO search window widens the longer you wait:

• 0–30 s: opponents within ±100 ELO
• 30–60 s: ±200 ELO
• 60–90 s: ±400 ELO
• Over 90 s: any available player (a "mixed match" warning is shown)

Up to 5 matches run at once. If all servers are full, you stay queued and the site shows your position and an estimated wait.

Tournaments

Tournaments run on Sundays in two categories:

• Basic — 100 Sparks entry, open to everyone.
• Elite — 1000 Sparks entry, requires Gold league (1300+ ELO).

Brackets are 16 or 32 players. A 5% rake goes to the operator; the remaining 95% forms the prize pool, split 60% / 25% / 10% for the top three, with the final 5% shared equally among the rest of the field.

Referrals

Every account has a referral code. When someone registers with your code you earn 20 Sparks, plus 10 Sparks for every $10-equivalent they recharge once recharges go live.

Server region

During Alpha and Beta, Glarium runs on a single region — a Spain-based server. Multi-region support (Europe, Americas, Asia) is planned for later phases.
